WOYWW 132

Huzzah!  I have my space back!  Yes indeedy, there may be the odd present or three to titivate but I can craft at my table once more.  I am about a gazillion days behind with JYC but I have some pages part prepped, some designs in my notebook, some photos ready to go, its just all in bits and pieces and so this is the main detritus on my desk this week.  I am ever hopeful that I will get some time in the next few days as my wonderful MIL is visiting and in the time honoured tradition of Grandma-ness means that the children may just be entertained for a bit!

Well I would get some things done, except that a week and half after my boy first got sick, he is off school again today.  He seems to have a bug for about 5 hours and then be right as rain for 3-4 days and then have it again.  I had so much planned for today including nails being done for a big night out, cleaning the house from top and bottom in readiness for MIL's visit, and of course a lovely peruse around lots of other desks.  But now I seem to have the bug too and so it will be snuggling on the sofa with my boy watching CBeebies and me on the laptop.  Oh well, hopefully it will be all over before Christmas.

I'm off to Julia's blog now to see who is joining us for WOYWW, being careful not to pass the bug on of course!

Bye for now
xx

  6. Hi Lisa-Jane - lovely colours on your pretty pink spotty table! I do hope your little boy is starting to feel better now.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog, especially about my uncle's funeral. We're setting off tomorrow morning. I'm glad you like my sparkly mirrors! It's a fun technique.

  7. I don't relinquish my desk or my room until Christmas eve, they wouldn't want me deprived of my capacity to do art, it really is the only thing that keeps me sane...

  12. The one lesson I have learned this year, really learned is that you should go with the flow as often as you can, cuddling up with an unexpectedly poorly littley is the ultimate chance to do that and forget the 'should-do's'.
I know the things I will remember this year are unplanned, and so far-unrecorded. I have a record card set up for each day with one side to write my thoughts on that day and the reverse has space for the detail: weather, food, stuff done, feelings and thoughts. Quick and simple but I will be happy when I get chance to scrap it all in a pretty way that I know what happened :)
    Merry Christmas Lisa-Jane :)

  13. Thanks, Lisa-Jane, for your comment on my blog. It does seem sad taking the pressies to a funeral, but it's the sensible thing to do. The saddest part for me is the absence of a pressie in the bag for my uncle. It's going to be a tiring few days with the long journey tomorrow and back on Sat., and the emotion onf Friday, and my hubby's gone down with another bout of the throat bug - he says he's OK to drive so I hope all will be well! I shall be glad when it's all over - and Christmas too - and get back into some sort of routine again.

I've printed out a copy of my blog post about my uncle, and I'm going to give it to my aunt.

    Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #58

  14. I hope you are feeling better soon. What beautiful papers you have to work with! I'm doing my very first WOYWW round - this might take a bit of time, I had no idea there were so many people involved! Thank you for the recommendation - do you mind if I name and glorify (as requested by a fellow blogger) on my blog? ;)

  17. Oh dear, I do hope you are both feeling a lot better now - not good being sick at Christmas and with so much still to be done. I'm sure your MIL will understand if the house isn't deep cleaned before her visit - she's probably had to cope with sickness in the family in her time too :) Your layout is looking good and the papers you are using are lovely. Take care. Elizabeth x #66
