WOYWW 149

I'm back!

Is it safe to open the door?  I'm not sure yet!  Aside from a couple of weeks over Christmas (thankfully), we have been plagued by one virus after another since the end of November.  I am unable to see where one finished and the next one started, or which ones were just people being overtired, stroppy or not eating.  The winter bug fest may not be over yet, we will have to wait and see, but for today I THINK all four of us are okay.

Unless that is, you count my desk.  My poor desk is not okay.  It is a mess.  It is suffering badly from post-viral mojo syndrome, otherwise known as designus interruptus.

Don't let that clear space on the cutting mat fool you.  This is where I moved the current DT project that I had just finished.  Despite the wonderful papers, the layouts have taken me days and days.  Just after the photo was taken I started on the third one.  I decided to make some chevron paper and spent ages measuring and cutting and folding.... only to tear the paper.  After a shocker of a day with the children, it was the last thing I needed and I walked out of the craft room and slammed the door behind me.  I shall go back to it with fresh eyes and a little more patience tomorrow.   I have to.  My new credit card is buried under there somewhere.

Between the virus(es) and the Easter holidays and a certain little girl's 3rd birthday, things have been pretty hectic here.  I was too ill to go out on her birthday but we made it to Milestone's Museum and the Lego Mania Tour over the weekend.  Look at them... butter wouldn't melt huh?

Maybe I shouldn't over do it though?  Maybe I should sit under my blanket on the sofa a little while longer.  I could peruse a few desks from across the globe while I am here - I really missed WOYWW last week!  I'll tidy up tomorrow.  Maybe.

Bye for now
xx

  1. Don't they look gorgeous? :0)
I think it's way more important for you to get completely well than it is to do any tidying up/decluttering. So rest and relax and be good to yourself, OK?
    Take care

  3. Gorgeous pic of the kiddies. My guess is that no one will remember or comment on a tidy room but everyone remembers an amazing mess. So don't fight it just go with the flow.

  4. The mess will still be there for you to tidy when you are well.

  5. I know it's been miserable, but it's kind of heartening to hear you say that too - becasue it's felt a bit like that here too! If it's not homework overload, it's sickness. Roll on the summer!

    Lovely pic

  6. I think a true creative needs a slightly unorganised desk - at least this is what I tell my husband when he dares to venture near my craft space - so roll with it.

Great picture of the kids - thanks for sharing.

  11. I should bide on the sofa...as soon as you're in the mood to tidy, you'll get it done in a jiffy and I'm pretty sure thats why you think it's taking longer to do the DT stuff. From here, see, your desk looks fab!!

  22. Ah, the desk just shows creativity! Mine always looks like that when I am working. I understand the mojo thing, though, it happens.
The viruses get the best of us sometimes, and they don't want to go away. Hopefully you'll have a chance to get some much needed relaxation very soon!
Thank you SOOOOOOO much for the sweetest of comments on my blog, and for the congratulations! It means so much that you stop by and see what's going on with me.
    Hugs and best of wishes!

  23. Aren't they gorgeous so cute, mine are 12 and 15 and trust me they grow several heads into their teenage years lol. Lots to see on your desk, poor you not being well, I had that problem from October to December last year but thankfully (touch wood) no more apart from the odd snotty nose!!!. Hope your mojo returns, there is nothing worse sitting there and being frustrated. Happy woyww :-) Kezzy x

  27. what little angels you have. I know that sometimes its tough - when mine were younger, I didn't ever seem to have time to craft - which was my mistake as I should have had a past time and 'me' time. Make sure you get enough balance between the kids and your crafting.

I hope you feel less stressed after walking away from your room for a while. If you even need to speak about stuff - I've a very good 'ear'
