WOYWW 201

 After spending the WHOLE day Saturday scrapping with the lovely Sarah from S J Crafts and Paula from Artful Angels in aid of Cancer Care, I've been banned from crafting until I get my assignment finished.

I've managed to get an extension because once again we are hit by illness in the family.  Saturday morning as I was heading out for the crop, Miss Bella showed us her spotty belly.  Frantic phonecalls abounded and her birthday party set for the next day became a pox party instead.  Luckily most of her friends has already had it so were able to come and 2 of her friends had shown spots 1 and 2 days before her!  Their parents were grateful for the ability to go out I can tell you!

Here is the cake!  I didn't have time to repair Rapunzel's face and her hair drove us bonkers but aside from that I like it in its rather rustic-ness!  


Management has an upset stomach and I have a cold and I have never had chicken pox so we are painting a red cross on the door and hoping for a Tesco delivery to be left on the door step because it is like Old Mother Hubbard's kitchen here.  I'm still hopeful of doing some cutting and sticking with the children at some point because that's not quite so indulgent is it? ;-)

    Oh Lisa-Jane, I do feel for you. Thankfully I can say that it gets a lot better as they get older and become a bit more germ resistant.

    I hope your Plague House is soon a thing of the past and everyone feels a lot better very soon!

    What a fun cake! Love it, I am sure it made the kids happy too! Sorry to hear about the pox outbreak, but in the scheme of things, it is good they get it while young. My sister is a Kindergarten teacher and in her late 30's and still hasn't had it, the other 5 of us had them when we were kids. We think she immune or something! Feel good, and have a great week!     You are welcome to toast your tootsies in front of my fire anytime you like! Just give me 5 mins to put the kettle on :)
    If it's any consolation, I nursed both my boys through raging chicken pox and didn't catch it even though I hadn't had it as a youngster. So you'll probably be ok :)

    Hi Lisa-Jane sorry to hear you're all poorly, I do hope you all get better soon! But your post did make me laugh. We have fresh air omelette here when the food fairy hasn't shown up. Your cake looks amazing and has reminded me that Mr M has asked for a handmade birthday cake this year (He thinks that because I'm OK at inking and stamping a cake will be easy - ha ha ha).     Hi Lisa, as well as laughing your post had me scratching. The idea of a pox party had me hooting and as for the cake - I love the fantastic-ness of it - just brilliant! Hope the Tesco delivery has arrived by now - the EM and I relied on them heavily when we both smote down with the lurgy at the same time. Hoping you all recover well and soon.     Oh dear! I recall when DS had the pox, all his mates moms had the nanny's bring the kids round to catch them. Then we went back to the States for a couple of years and DD got the jab so no pox for her. A relief, but now my Mom has shingles so I wonder if they both have that in their future. Oh well. Love the cake and a pox party worked out well - lemonade from lemons and all that.... :)
