Good morning crafty-desk perusing folks! I am doing my best to join in with What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and actually get around to a few more than I usually do. You can link up too - find the information at Stamping Ground.
You might think that you've seen this pic before...
Yes you have, its the same as it was 3-4 weeks ago and we are still in the same boat except that we have lost our forever house and so we are looking again as well as trying to sell ours - its a horrid frustrating process but there we go.I have been crafting in between tidying my desk though. This was a layout I did for a recent challenge that involved using white or black as the main colours, using stamping or doodling and using ribbon or washi.
Its hard to believe my two eldest nieces ever looked like this! The cutie on the left is now whipping my behind in the gym - who would have thought it at the time! There's only 18 months between them so they really are #bff.
I used some embossing paste for the first time to give something interesting to the white background and I really liked the way it turned out. Although its my often used messy stack style, the colour scheme is more unusual for me but I'm pleased with the end result.
I'm looking forward to a day of cropping on Saturday too - goodness knows I need it!
Bye for now
xx
Great layout - embossing paste is such a great addition isn't it. Sunshine Girl #6
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about the house :( Hope it all works out soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm loving that green with the black and white. It looks really good
Gah, house buying/selling is a major pain in the derriere....keep smiling, the right one will come along. But it's the having to keep everything tidy all the time that I found hard (not being a housekeeping Queen, you see...)
ReplyDeleteLove that embossed pattern on the LO - you're right, it really does add to the overall effect!

A lovely layout - it's not my usual colourway, either, but it is great. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGrrrr!!! House moving! There MUST be an easier and less stressful way - surely???
Take care. God bless.

Its a great concentrator isn't it, a mainly black and white challenge. I think you've done a fab job. Specially as you didn't have to get two little girls to especially dress in black and white for you!
ReplyDeleteThe house sale thing is just a temporary pain, hang in there. The worst part must be having to stay tidy!!
Hi Lisa Jane, Happy WOYWW, your desk looks so pink and white and tidy! Love the LO. Moving house is supposed to be one of the most stressful things you can do, I hope you can stay a little calm.

I feel your pain. House selling/buying is right up there on my list of hates. How cute do they look in that pic?! Lovely LO.

Love this layout very much!!! I knew you would be converted to embossing paste in good time!! Looks fab!! So sorry to hear the house situation is not moving the way you want it to, but it will, at just the right time!! See you saturday for some wonderful cutting and sticking time!! :) xx
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa Jane, love the layout. Black and White my favourite theme, and I love green! Sad about the house- but all you can do is believe that you will get the house you are meant to have! Old saying- What is for you will never go past you. When the house is right for you, everything will go perfectly. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #43 xx
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, so sorry to learn that the house sale/buying fell through ... I hope it's just a short time before another forever house comes along and the perfect buyers too. I agree with Shaz, what's meant for you won't go by you! That's a lovely scrap page but then you had the perfect photo to scrap with ... the girls are just adorable, and I love the colour combination :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #51
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry to hear that you lost your house, but I truly believe the right one is just waiting for you to find it. And I'm sure you'll find it soon and fall in love xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great page, love those layers, including the stamps.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're still in no-mans-land re the house. I do hope things fall into place soon. That page is fab. Have a happy week, Chris # 16

ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, discovered your blog and popped over for a peek and to say hello. Some lovely work here and I see you join in with WOYWW too. I don't link in regularly but do enjoy it when I do. I see you were still in the middle of the house move and nothing much has changed nearly 4 months later. You must be so looking forward to being settled again and unpacked. Hope your pending move goes to plan and smoothly. I look forward to when you can get back to your blog and share more of your projects. I bet you do too! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat layout is amazing and I just love the colour scheme too. I'm guessing you will be pleased when you can get settled again. I was interested to read that you would like an MG. I love mine and always enjoy driving it but it's useful to have someone who understands cars. It was originally going to be a hobby for my hubby but as my journey to work was shorter I have always driven it. People either love them or hate them and I have had some interesting moments over the years. I don't know whether it's because we've had the car for so long but it definitely has a character all it's own. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x20x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous layout and how frustrating for you about the house. In answer to your comment on my blog - When the weather is this cold I do not submerge my head (think ice cream head 100x over!) but just my body. I find it wonderful for any aches and pains and for my mental health. If you don't fancy it at this time of year you can always turn the shower onto cold at the end for a minute to give you the cold blast - people do that and then gradually extend it. It isn't something I personally like doing as I would rather go outside and swim, but it may work better for you. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#10)
ReplyDeleteHi. I'm so late returning your visit. Great layout. Ugh re house sale, been there :-(
