WOYWW 138

I almost didn't play today but Wednesday wouldn't be Wednesday without snooping around other people's desks now would it.  I don't think Julia realised what a monster she would be breeding when she first had the idea 138 weeks ago but I'm so glad she did and now having met her and Lunch Lady Jan, I am even more glad that she did - oh how we did chuckle and stroke many fabrics..  So I will shortly be going back to bed as I feel so absolutely lousy with a horrid sore throat and cold.  Wednesday is my day for WOYWW (obviously) but also my housework but I am banned from hoovering and ironing at the moment because of my shoulder (hurrah!) so if I get some energy later then I will spend some time in my craft room - it misses me, I know it.  It calls to me when I am at the gym or on the school run or just in another room helping someone with a puzzle or dressing a dolly or being made pretend cakes and cups of tea (oh how I wish I could have endless calorie free cake and tea!!)

Centre stage we have a half finished layout from the crop class last week.  As you can see, no strawberries.  I changed my mind at the last minute.  And then of course I paid the price because in my haste I didn't check the colours properly and I'm not sure it works.  The Christmas Journal at the back there - its this weekend or it gets filed away.  And then in the corner is Cath Kidston book "Sew!"  Meeting Jan last week rekindled my fabric love and she has inspired me to get my sewing machine out and have a play.  That's what I love about WOYWW, you might be inspired by a technique, a colour scheme, a piece of paper or fabric, a storage solution, or you might laugh at someone's teetering tottering piles, be awe inspired by someone's organised and tidy space, scream in horror or nod in agreement at un-cleaned stamps.  Whatever makes you go "ooh" you are sure to find something around these desks to put a little twinkle in your eye.  Tell me what you've found, what makes you have a snoop each week, what have you learned?  Don't keep it to yourself, share.  Because "Sharing is Caring".

And with that, dear people, I leave you.  I am taking Scrap365 and a cup of tea up to my bed.

Bye for now
xx

  2. I have that book! My friend bought it for me for my birthday! I will be sewing today, bunting. I was inspired by Lunch Lady Jan to make patriotic bunting for the upcoming Olympics and Jubilee.
Sorry you're not well but a result about the housework. Go to bed and dream of your physio!

  5. Great post this week, even though you are feeling pants... :(
Was fab to see you last week and hooray for the sewing machine resurrection!! Woohoo, I feel another trip to C&H Fabrics coming on! You know the baby wipes version of the tissue covers? Do you use the Johnson's baby Wipes size of packet?? There are a few variations in size of product, I noticed and I was trying to work out some dimensions. Btw, I have some surplus PINK POLKA DOT fabric, so keep a beady eye on the postman!

  14. Gah, so sorry you aren't well, how miserable for you, and a bad shoulder to boot. Give up the gym, it's the only way! Your desk looks great - I really like the way the LO is coming actually...strawbs or not! And..my goodness, what an angle you got on the ATG gun..it's almost indistinguishable!!

  19. OMG I am on a fabric kick too!! And we have that same CK book, Miss 13 made a bag from it, and Miss 15 an apron. But I've been using fabric to do layered collagey things....kinda like you would do with paper only it fabric! In love. Stitchery is my new glue!

  20. So glad you decided to join in in the end, Lisa but so sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. The cuppa and Scrap 365 will help to cheer you up, I'm sure. I love that mag, so many great ideas.
Don't you think pretty fabric is like pretty paper, if you like one, you like the other. I buy fabric 'cos I love it but then am not sure what to do with it!!! No hope really.
    Happy WOYWW

  23. Hi there. Sorry to hear you are not well. You need a nice snuggly handmade quilt wrapped around you so have a hug from me instead!
I like that layout! Love the way you have the baby photos in it. I see you order your pics from Tesco. It is cheaper than printing yourself and pretty quick I find!
I am envious you got to wander and stroke fabric with Jan. We have been talking about it for a while but tricky to fix up!
Shall we have a show and tell of our Christmas journals next week?

Hope you find time to finish your Christmas project. You won't love it more when you come across it later -- ha, ha! Just imagine the feeling of accomplishment!! :-)

  33. Something about the colors on your desk makes me truly "happy." I think it must be the cheerful, spring-like pink and green combo.
