WOYWW 171

Best laid plans an' all that...  I rushed into my craft room to take a picture in daylight (those precious hours are dwindling fast aren't they?!) and managed to do this instead.  Obviously many round pieces and a hard floor mean't that things were scattered far and wide.  It was a dumping ground for embellishments after being at crops so that will teach me to put things away when I get back.

Its been one of those days so I took a deep breath, walked away and closed the door.  I do need to clear it up though as I am having a play date tomorrow - huzzah!  Lots of tea, chat and scrapping and I can't wait.

I've been finishing off a few things week and working on the little something for a friend but I did also manage to squeeze in this easel card for my niece.

I've never made an easel card of any sort before so this diagonal one was quite a logistical challenge for my small brain!

That fabby large button and the printed twill ribbon were part of my haul from Handmade Treasures at the weekend.  I love these feature buttons which do come in a size bigger too for a real statement.

This cot stamp was another thing rescued from my "give it away" box which I never got around to "giving away" - oops!  I love the subtle embossed effect on the printed background.

You'll be pleased to hear that Mum and baby came home on Saturday and are doing really well.  We are dog-sitting at the moment for my other niece who visiting with her new baby (5 weeks) so I have had lots of lovely newborn snuggles this week and I will miss them all when they go home today.  I will get a lot more done at my desk though!

Talking of desks, what's on yours?  Go on share if you dare.  Its what we do on a Wednesday around here. This post is brought to you by Julia's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Bye for now
xx

  2. You'll be finding those for weeks now, Lisa. How they can find their way into ever nook and cranny I'll never know. It's a bit like when you spill a cup of tea, there always seems to be far more liquid all over than was actually in the cup. How does that happen.
It's a beautiful card too, I love the diagonal easel you've created. Enjoy all those snuggles.
P.S. I had to go back and read your storytelling post after catching the comments from your last post and wow, I'm so full of admiration for you. How beautifully you write on something so poignant.
    Happy WOYWW

  4. Could have been worse, yesterday I was carefully tipping 3lb of warmed sugar into a pot of simmering pink grapefruit juice when approximately 1lb of it went all over the cooker, the floor and inside my sandals!
Bloody Delia Bloody Smith and her warmed sugar technique.

    A play date? How lovely.

Sorry about the spillage...I wouldn't have cleared it up unless I was about to sit down and 'do', either. It's lovely having babies in the family isn't it, your card is just gorgeous, sweet.

  8. Sorry ....I laughed at your misadventure ...does that make me bad ...I think it was relief that someone else had done it this time. Yesterday I knocked a tub of crispy fried onions out of the cupboard ....not that it was a big one ....little actually, but it seemed to cover the entire kitchen floor.
Have a wonderful play day. xx#81

  12. SWEET baby card, so cute! My art room floor, hmm, now that would be a pic, I'm afraid some of the woyww ladies would faint dead away, so I'll not say a word about your spill!

    Happy WOYWW!

  17. I had a good laugh that you looked at the mess and walked away. Sometimes you just have to do that until your head gets right. Love the diagonal easel card. I'm impressed that was your first attempt. I'd surely get it all wonky.

  18. No takesees back! LOL Isn't it great that you didn't give away the stamp I think the card is adorable! Originally the room in my home I wanted has hardwood but my dear love decided that was going to be the master bed. Now I have to fuss with punching s and a vacuum all of the time. Maybe when you go to tidy up the spill you'll re discover something else.
