Good morning, good yawning!  Plenty going on in this here house today for today's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

My desk - I'm making an album for my sort of brother-in-law's 60th birthday on Saturday, just decided on it - no pressure then.  Don't worry that there's no cup of tea here, I wasn't working here last.

This is the pile of pages so far for this album.

This is the finished pebble picture from last week, just waiting to go up on the wall.  The hot glue worked a treat as long as I worked quickly enough that the glue didn't cool even slightly.

Another work-in-progress.  This is a canvas that I'm gradually building up the layers on and will eventually become a lost sock department.  I've got some little heart shaped pegs and any time there is a sock left over in the wash it will go on the board until the other turns up.  Just an excuse to make a cute project for my new utility room really ;-)

And here is where I've spent much of today, at the kitchen table with my girl doing our colouring.  We're really working on fine motor skills with both children at the moment in order to help their handwriting without them practising their letters ;-)  Please note, the full cup of tea - phew!

Both children are desperate to get their hands on my promarkers but NOBODY touches my pens...  I can understand them wanting to use them though, they flow so well.  *sigh

Bye for now

  1. Momma has to have her special toys cousin used to give in to her child and when he comes around here I refuse and tell him that it is my special toy...he went home and asked him Mom why she doesn't have special things like me...Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #1

  2. I bet your lost sock art will always have one hanging on it, Lisa. Why is it that two socks go in the wash but only one comes out. I have a box for mine and there is always one in there, no matter how empty the wash basket is!! Love that you have created art for them.
The pebble heart is stunning. I'm going to try that one out!
Like Mother like daughter, how lovely to see your DD colouring so contentedly there. It won't be long before she has her own promarkers, believe me!!
    Happy WOYWW

  3. Yah, they only want them because you use them, they don't care how they flow gal, believe me!! Read your FB post about Bella this morning too, poor gal, you lot have really had it this winter, huh! Super impressed by the album, I can't do a page without a photo, really must learn this skill. And I think your utility is going to be the best decorated ever!!

  4. The Lost Sock Hanger is a Great Idea
    Love it :)
Have a Great week WOYWW Heather #46

  5. Oh so mean!!! Looks like a good day's play all round then... good luck with the album, it is bound to be fab! Helen 11

  6. Love the lost sock dept idea :) We are so unimaginative here they go in a bag for life until we are sick of them lol.

Great set of pages started and love the photo of your daughter colouring :) I have copics and gave in to my son, oh dear you should see the state of Y17 ;)

    Have a good week xxx

  7. We could definitely do with a lost socks dept round here too..down the back of the radiator isn't really a good permanent solution! Great plan

  8. I've just been playing with promarkers and I'd forgotten just how wonderful they are :)

  9. LOL - No pressure, huh? That's about how I do it too. I have a very good friend whose birthday is this weekend and my daughter who is turning 20 the first of the week and I have started ANYTHING for either of them.
Guess I better get it in gear!!!
    Have a great day!

  10. so we are not the only household to loose socks in the wash I love your idea of storing them until the other one returns.
You little girl looks as though she is really lost in thought with her colouring

  11. ha ha, trust me, one the kids try you promarkers they won't want the crayola ones anymore LOL! Love the pebble pic! Happy WOYWW! Lindsay #117

  12. Looks like a budding artist there! What fun!

  13. Wow...You have one really busy work desk. I love that canvas so far. What a cute little CIT (crafter in training). I feel the same way about my Copic markers.

  14. Just love the pebble picture! Very cool - DS and I used to collect heart shaped rocks when he was young - sadly, not he's in his 20s I doubt it even crosses his mind to look. Shame they have to grow up.... :)

    Happy WOYWW

  15. My boy is always wanting to use my stash. Some things I let him...others NEVER! With you on the Promarkers...I got my roses done! phew! Hope you get your album done.

  16. Love that pebble heart!! You clever thing, it looks great. I have a love/hate relationship with hot glue guns...trying to keep year 6 kids from permanent harm after using them is like Mission Impossible, lol!!
I hope Bella is better now, I saw on Facebook that she's poorly again. You really have suffered this year :( Let's hope spring comes soon and we can get out into the fresh air.
    Hugs, LLJ 36 xx

  17. Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog!

Great idea to have the kids sure does fine tune their
    fine motor skills for printing.
My copics are off limits to DH too!
This is my second reply to you...somehow blogger ate the first one...teehee
If you get 2, just nuke one.

Love the layout on the previous post.

  18. A lovely day for sure...and love love loved your echo park pages!!!

  19. I hope you make good progress on your album. Your little girl is a cutie.
