Anyway, onto brighter things! Here is my desk today.
Art sediment from the following 2 layouts really and the beginnings of another. You can also see there, just at the top right of the layout, something which looks a little Christmassy. I must say a humungous THANK YOU to Lunch Lady Jan for sending this adorable Christmas bunting which I will photograph properly when I get better light. It is wonderful and it will look great hung around the walls and add instant festive cheer. I never expected a total stranger really, to send me such a lovely gift, just because I made her laugh last week with the titles of her blog posts - go and check it out today to see what we were laughing about!
And these are the layouts which caused the mess above.
This one using Shimelle's Sketch of the Week from a couple of weeks ago and using some Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride. (Apologies for the reflection in the photo)
See the tongue sticking out there? Its a family thing. We can't concentrate or steer if we don't have our tongue out. My tongue is often out when I craft... It was out especially when I tried to do the inky dots which went wrong (again!) and I spilled some on my page so I will not be trying it again EVER!
And this one using Shimelle's Starting Point from the weekend. Its a bit minimal for me but I kind of like it.
I added the stars down the opposite side to the sketch as I didn't intend to use them but then changed my mind when I decided I desperately needed more texture.
Bye for now xxhttp://www.shimelle.com/paper/1242/scrapbooking-sketch-of-the-week/
Great pages. Hope things start to get sorted and turn around for you soon.

Glad you liked the bunting! It is a small thing in return for the song suggestions which made me hoot :D And after reading the little sentiment on the LO, I'm even happier. Whereabouts in Wales were you when you took the pic? I always think that Pembrokeshire is like Cornwall without the crowds! I'm a Welsh girly through and through, my parents still live in Carmarthenshire and my son has just started at Cardiff Uni!
ReplyDeleteHope you are all reasonably ok after all the sadness of the previous week. Thinking about you...
Hugs, LLJ xx
"Art sediment" - What a great expression! Sounds so much better than "clutter", which is what it's generally referred to around here, by my husband!
ReplyDeleteHi. As a fairly newbie to WOYWW, I have been spending a while going back through some of your posts. I love all the scrapbooking. It inspires me to try a different stlye (I tend to pack lots of smaller photos onto a page and more journalling, probably because I making a book for each of my sons, telling them the story of their life so far, and I don't want to leave anything out).
ReplyDeleteI am surprised at how many folk on here work with a really bright and/or patterned tablecloth on their desk. I would find this so distracting, and it would interfere with my choosing of colours, but it is a good thing we are not all the same isn't it?
I hope to see some more of your pages soon. Kate x
Fab Pages, love the Wales one especially! x
ReplyDeleteIlove that you call it sediment! Your desk is a real antidote to the shock you're all suffering - spect the crafting has been a good escape huh. The tongue thing - half of my family do that - the other half frown. Strange aren't we?!!
ReplyDeleteScrapping and keeping your mind and hands busy at this time will be therapeutic. We just buried my FIL last Friday too so I feel your pain right now. At least we had warning, a sudden death is always worse in my mind.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all,
Hugs

Its such a difficult time for you and your family, I really understan that, and I hope things ease for you.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely layouts
Two great LOs, and hope you are all able to come to terms with what happened to your step-mum
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
You have been busy - lovely layouts Lisa-Jane. Thinking of you xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you took this from a great height by the size of your bug and the tape gun, I hope you weren't on anything precarious!
ReplyDeleteLots of stuff to nosey at, does the rabbit always keep you company?
Thanks for the snoop.

Love all your hallo-weeny crafty stuff, it all looks so bright and colourful! I think the bunny has fallen asleep!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Your desk looks full of lovely things, Lisa. I love the little cutie hanging out of that basket on the left hand side.
ReplyDeleteYour layouts are beautiful as always. You always make me want to do more scrapabooking, just need more hours in the day.
Take care at this difficult time. My thoughts are with your all.
